Texas is making moves with HB 3817 โ€” a bill that finally puts some accountability behind the pronoun politics. Under this law, claiming a gender different from your biological sex on official records or to employers could soon be classified as fraud. Itโ€™s about time someone put real consequences on the table for all the confusion.

๐Ÿ“Œ What Happened:

  • Texas House Bill 3817 was filed by Rep. Tom Oliverson in March 2025.

  • The bill introduces the term โ€œgender identity fraudโ€, making it a felony to knowingly misrepresent your sex โ€” the one you were born with โ€” to government entities or employers.

  • This would be a state jail felony, with penalties including up to two years behind bars and a $10,000 fine.

  • The bill doesnโ€™t single anyone out โ€” it just says if you want to be taken seriously, keep it real when it counts.

๐Ÿง  The Bigger Picture:

Weโ€™ve seen too much chaos in schools, sports, and workplaces because people can say โ€œI identify asโ€ and suddenly rules donโ€™t matter. This bill doesnโ€™t stop you from living how you want โ€” but when it comes to legal documents and official dealings, facts matter. HB 3817 brings clarity back into the system, something this country sorely needs.

๐Ÿ’ญ Final Thoughts:

This isnโ€™t hate. This isnโ€™t oppression. Itโ€™s common sense. We donโ€™t get to pick our race, our age, or our sex. Texas is just putting that in writing โ€” and Iโ€™m here for it. Let folks live how they want, but donโ€™t let โ€˜identityโ€™ override reality when the government or workplace is involved.

I donโ€™t chase clout / I chase clarity.
