Memorial Day is supposed to be about honoring the fallen - but in South Carolina, it turned into another chaotic chapter of American gun violence. Eleven people were shot, including children, during what shouldโ€™ve been a peaceful holiday.

๐Ÿ“Œ What Happened:

  • The shooting happened at a block party in Hollywood, South Carolina, on Memorial Day, May 27, 2025.

  • Over 100 people were gathered when gunfire broke out just before 9 PM.

  • Eleven individuals were shot, including at least two minors. No deaths have been reported yet, but several victims are in critical condition.

  • Authorities believe multiple shooters were involved. So far, no arrests have been made.

  • Police recovered several firearms at the scene and are calling for public help identifying suspects.

๐Ÿง  The Bigger Picture:

This ainโ€™t just a โ€œSouth Carolina problemโ€ - itโ€™s a nationwide infection. Memorial Day is supposed to be a time for reflection, community, and respect. Instead, itโ€™s become another date where blood hits the pavement. And letโ€™s be real: folks ainโ€™t running up on military bases - theyโ€™re unloading on their own neighborhoods. Why? Because the system only protects what it values, and too many of us donโ€™t fall on that list.

๐Ÿ’ญ Final Thoughts:

When kids can't go to a damn block party without ducking bullets, weโ€™ve lost the plot. And Iโ€™m tired of the โ€œthoughts and prayersโ€ routine. We donโ€™t need hashtags - we need accountability, leadership, and a cultural gut-check.

I donโ€™t chase clout / I chase clarity.
